Expressly assembled for the rooms of the Fondazione Merz, Pedro Cabrita Reis’ project illustrates a new chapter of exploration into a microcosm of primeval materials: True Gardens. This is a maze of light and glass, held up by wood blocks generating a sort of dynamic geometry, while “conversing” with the painted and sculpted works of Mario Merz, that creates an original “architectural ensemble”. The arrangement of this 2008 exhibit in Torino, that coincides with the World Congress of Architecture, emphasises the starring role that art plays in the architectural thought process.
