Cinema Massimo – Via Verdi 18

from 13.06.2008 to 14.09.2008

The critical, creative and fraternal eye of artist-filmmaker who, ever since his beginnings, has continued along a great season of “Italian ( in particular that of Torino) Avant Garde”. He reveals himself in all of his reality and sincerity, presenting once again the mirror play between travel companions in its essence and complicity. Lucio Fontana as actor in La Galante Avventura del Cavaliere dal Lieto Volto (1966) that unites American experimental cinema of those years with the lessons of silent films from the dawn of cinema from the Piemonte region, Neonmerzare (1967) with the coloured neons of Merz, Boettibianchenero (1968) on the historic exhibit of Alighiero Boetti at the Galleria Christian Stein at Torino, Buongiorno, Michelangelo (1968-69) which shows Michelangelo Pistoletto travelling through the streets of torino with his Sphere made out of newspaper. Plus Le Gote in Fiamme, Lo Spaccone, Con-certo Rituale, Le Porte Girevoli, Un supermaschio, Time after Time, Film/a/To, Andrea a Roma, Italiana, Cinema through Italy, Superglance: with his 16 mm Bell & Howell with its Angenieux zoom, Ugo Nespolo has left an extraordinary testimony of the turmoil that typified Italiy’s Avant Garde movement.
