The project, requested by the Regione Piemonte, to enhance the historic, artistic and monumental legacies of the smaller towns that are often unknown - but not for this reason less important - draws upon the experience accumulated with the project “Città d’arte a porte aperte”, realised by the province of Torino between 1997 and 2004. The leitmotiv of this initiative is one of expanding the panorama beyond the more famous cultural centres by turning attention to those less known realities that are, however, no less interesting or prestigious: often it is exactly there that priceless artistic and cultural jewels can be found. The public has less of an opportunity to view them since they are far from the more frequented tourist spots. An invitation to discover in these eight provinces of Piemonte, corners of extraordinary beauty and to familiarise with as well as tour artistic and architectural realities of great historic significance.
