In these past 25 years of activity, the Acqui in Palcoscenico festival has been able to show the world the artistic side of a city that is renowned first and foremost for its thermal baths and the excellent wines it produces. This 2008 edition will host some of the best productions and the most interesting international ensembles on its stage, with special attention to contemporary and avant garde dance. Some of the scheduled performances of particular interest are the National debut of “La Silphide” by the Ekanterinburg Ballet, the Balletto Teatro di Torino’s new production of “Petrushka” and the International Gala of Dance with the finest soloists and stars of Europe’s great Theatres, interpreters of academic dance’s best repertoire. The prestigious “Acquidanza” award (in its 22nd edition), the evenings dedicated to emerging soloists and groups “Vivere di Danza”, internships, auditions and workshops embellish the festival even more.
