Bringing opera to the splendid and suggestive setting of the ruins of the Roman Theater in Bene Vagienna, which remained buried for more than one millennium, and to the greater public, the Festival Ferie di Augusto gives a new splendor back to the archeological site of the Augusta Bagiennorum. The accuracy and the quality of the program, which combines cultural rigor with awesome, emotionally-packed visuals, make the event and the town in the province of Cuneo that welcomes it, one of the main reference points of summer shows in Piemonte and northern Italy. Seven events scheduled, including classical theater and theater-dance. Among the most emotional presentations, the “Process a Socrate” (“The Trial of Socrates”) relived through the actors from the Compagnia Torino Spettacoli and through the Dialogues of Plato.
