Iron bike is an extraordinary race, not only because it is so challenging, but because it calls upon non-professional athletes for the most part who chose to put themselves through the test as well. This year they must run for about 650 km by 22,000 metres of slopes. Starting again between the valleys in the Cuneo province and the Olympic Mountains with borders in the upper Ubaye valley, at Vars and the Chaberton Fortress. The seven stages are preceded by night prologue and lead to the paths and mule trails that touch lakes, glaciers and snowy peaks which are often so jagged that they must be crossed while carrying ones bike on his shoulder.
