During its first week the Festival proposes, as the tradition dictates, the meetings and seminars of Chitarissima 2008 followed by a full calendar of evening performances. This is a way to put emphasis on the true nature of the Festival: a period of research and, at the same time, performance that has always been connected to the historical places in the city of Saluzzo. Among the scheduled concerts (strictly free of charge): the outstanding opening concert on Sunday August 24th with the Siol Sixtet, winner of the past edition of Chitarissima. Thursday the 28th will present the Anabel Montesinos and Marco Tamayo Duo, winners of Alessandria’s International “M.Pittaluga” Competition. On Friday the 29th, German Ulrike Schober offers the public a taste of Renaissance music while September will bring the mandolin of Ugo Oralndi (Saturday the 6th), Trio Caravaggio (the 14th) and the Orchestra Francigena Yporegia (the 20th) will enchant the audience by tugging on its heartstrings.
