The clothing as sculpture created by Roberto Capucci, and Samurai armour (XVI-XVIII centuries) are two superb examples of creativity and imagination that share a rigour that is part of the warrior spirit. Like a Samurai, Capucci is very demanding of himself while being open and receptive to the most daring flights of the mind, and like the master craftsman in the 18th century, he sets his imagination free to slide over the hard cuirass and the fearsome helmet he is forging. The venue for this most unusual encounter offers visitors the dazzling spectacle of pure imagination matched with ingenuity: the huge rough wooden wheels used to spin wool and thread, once driven by water and now automatic, evoke machinery from the sketches of Leonardo da Vinci.
