Tempera paints, watercolours, canvases in oil paint, sketches and carvings: the anthology of Maestro Ettore Fico is organised by CeSAC Centro Sperimentale per le Arti Contemporanee (Experimental Centre of Contemporary Art). For the first time in Italy, 170 works of art created by the artist from Biella between the 1930’s and the beginning of this century are together in a single exhibit. A student of Luigi Serralunga, Fico undertakes a path that carries him from Symbolism to thee aintings of Cèzanne, Braque, Matisse and Monet, his forte being a unique colour, adopting materic art at times, possessing a strong and authoritative line. An artistic course as well as an existential one that makes mention of places seen during his lifetime (Torino, Algiers at the time of his imprisonment during World War II, Liguria, the French Riviera, Castiglione Torinese) under the influence of a culture with an international flair.
