Il manifesto polacco e il gran teatro del mondo
Asilo Martini
from 04.10.2008 to 09.11.2008
“Romeo and Juliet”, “Hamlet”, “Don Juan”, “Waiting for Godot”, “Six characters in Search of an Author”…there is not a well-known work in the history of theatre that has not been visually portrayed by the original creativity of the Polish school of graphic art, one of the latter half of the 20th century’s most interesting artistic movements. The “Il manifesto polacco e il gran teatro del mondo” (Posters from Poland and Great Theatre from around the World) exhibit, presented as a part of the International Literature Festival “I Luoghi delle Parole”(The Locations of Words), is proposing a selection of over 70 art posters arriving for the most part from the private collection of Polish publisher and collector Krzysztof Dydo. Among the artists featured in the exhibit: Eugeniusz "Get" Stankiewicz, Mieczyslaw Gorowski, Stasys Eidrigevicius, Roman Kalarus, Wieslaw Walkuski and Sebastian Kubica. Mr Kubica is also protagonist of a workshop on the creation of the Poster offered to art schools and academies. Admission to the exhibit is free of charge.
