Year after year, the public is getting more and more used to enjoying a musical season of high quality like the one offered by the “Chivasso in musica” 2008-09 season. This year will be commemorating important events like Poland’s declaration of independence (with the opening concert dedicated to Chopin), the 35th anniversary of the founding of Istituto “Sinigaglia” of Chivasso and Bach’s birthday. Illustrious names are filling the programme: pianist Roberto Cominati, violinists Salvatore Accardo and Uto Ughi along with Italian and international artists like the Trio Sinigaglia, the New Yperion Trio of Bruxelles, l'Orchestra Sinfonica Giovanile del Piemonte, (Piemonte Youth Orchestra), organists Mario Duella, Stefano Pellini and Margherita Sciddurlo, harpist Davide Burani, saxophonist Pietro Tagliaferri, soprano Barbara Somogyova with pianist Orietta Cassini, and percussionist, (Chivasso’s own) Simone Rubino who will be performing with pianist Glenda Cantone.
