Cecenia, una guerra e una pacificazione violenta
Museo Diffuso della Resistenza, della Deportazione, della Guerra, dei Diritti e della Libertà
from 08.10.2008 to 22.02.2009
A peace imposed by cannon shots. For over twenty years Chechnya is living the drama of its denied independence, buried under Red Army tanks. Military occupation, bombings, blood and violence: the bitter price for the Kremlin’s order has left a nation on its knees. The exhibit set up by the Museo Diffuso della Resistenza di Torino (Torino “Widespread” Museum of Resistance), dedicated to the memory of journalist Anna Politkovskaya, outlines a balance sheet of the country at the end of the war, thanks also to a series of encounters, debates and projections. An opportunity to widen the field and place the vicissitudes of the Caucasian republic on the broadest objective for the protection of human rights.
