Advancing along paths that lead to the Rocche del Roero, walls out of compacted sand that stand out on deep woodsy gorges are something anyone can do these days. The “RoccheTrek” agenda, hiking events organised by the Eco-museum of the Rocche has planned theme hikes such as Sentiero Apicoltura-Religioso, della Castagna Granda, Masca Micilina - Anfiteatro della Ghia, del Castagno (Chestnut), della Fossa dei Cinghiali (Boar’s Ditch), an opportunity to become acquainted with the Rocche territory – a “gift” from geological evolution. These hikes extend for the distance of about 30 km through the townships of Cisterna d’Asti and Pocapaglia, acting as a natural watershed between the river basins of the Po and Tanaro. The easy-level hikes cross shady areas as well as sunny ones and end with a snack featuring herbal teas and several kinds of honey from the Roero territory.
