Il cioccolato. Dai Maya al XX secolo
Fondazione Ferrero
from 19.10.2008 to 18.01.2009
Through a reconstruction of the jungle environment of pre-Columbian era rather than the sophisticated atmosphere of European courts in which chocolate was diffused, this exhibit retraces the route that brought us this product to sweeten our times. From medicinal beverage permitted by popes during periods of fasting to extraordinary stimulator for acts of lovemaking, according to Giacomo Casanova. Multi-medial technologies and items from the Magnani (Venice), Peyrano (Torino) collections along with those from the Perugina and Ferrero Museums help reconstruct the evolution and changes that have accompanied the processing and consumption of chocolate from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
