Accademia Albertina

from 06.12.2008 to 10.01.2009

The title of the exhibition, “10/09/08/”, pays homage to imagination’s view of scientific research. On 10 September 2008 in Geneva, Switzerland, the researchers of the CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) activated the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the particle accelerator that can recreate the conditions of the universe a few seconds after the Big Bang. And in those exact same days, at the Accademia Albertina, a workshop led by artist Massimo Bartolini asked young authors to reflect on the relationships between art and scientific research. Experiment, stress, tension, velocity, light, failure, possibility and probability: these are the keywords around which the work of the artists developed. An exhibit itinerary that is rich in installations, sculpture and experimental videos that give free reign to energy, light and imagination.
