A third edition that cannot be missed: the Lago Maggiore LetterAltura 2009 is planning over 80 events between encounters with authors, live performances, creative workshops as well as more than 130 national and international guests to bring attention upon the mountains as a global priority for humanity, the only source of water capable of guaranteeing a florid future to coming generations. There will be five thematic courses acting as the leitmotif of this edition: Confini (Boundaries), Alpinismo (Hiking), ( R )esistenze (Existence and Resistance), Scalatori su due ruote (Mountain climbers on two wheels) and Orso (Bear). From breakfast in the morning to late-night shows, the public will be able to converse with protagonists of the encounters, sharing their mutual passion for the mountains, memories of unforgettable trips and sensations of extraordinary adventures. Appointments are scheduled in Verbania from June 24 – 28, in Le Quarne on the wings of music on July 4 – 5, on the marvellous stage of Rosa in Macugnaga on July 11, 12 and 17, and on July 18 – 19 in Val Bognaco, the valley on the border that is a place in which people can meet.
