Touring - Piemonte Feel

Taste

A region can be described through the superiority of its flavors, its many gastronomic itineraries, and events that exalt the quality of its products. Events and gastronomic initiatives are among the stars of tourism development in Piemonte, which attract the attention of the international public every year.

Going out on a discovery of Piemonte flavors and gastronomic traditions means not missing out on several events which are known and appreciated on an international level. One at the top of the list is the Salone del Gusto di Torino, a biennial fair event organized by Slow Food and aimed principally at artisan production, small-scale production, and productions that safeguard traditions. Thanks to the commitment of Slow Food, Presidi (Presidios) have been created which support excellent, small productions that risk disappearing, increase territories, recuperate trades and techniques that use traditional methods, and save indigenous breeds and ancient varietals of fruit and vegetables from extinction.

Raffaele La Capria

“The Langhe landscape is stunning. I am a man of the sea and looking at these hills reminds me of a very rough, live and vibrant green sea. But there is another aspect that impresses me, the order of the vineyards. It’s a geometric order in which man’s care and love can be seen along with the fact that the vineyards are a resource closely tied to the roots of mankind.”

Adrien Brody

“While shooting Dario Argento’s Giallo, I bought a used bicycle at Balon and would go out for a ride along the Po….Gorgeous…Not to mention Piemonte’s cuisine which is smashing….”

Wim Wenders

"I could live in Torino if they offered me an office on the top floor of the Mole Antonelliana, a location perfect for a director."
