Dedicated in 1899 to the sisters from Savigliano Maria and Teresa Milanollo, famous violinists of the last century, designed by the architect Maurizio Eula and completed in 1836, the Civico Teatro Milanollo has been described as “a delicate miniature of Torino’s Carignano”. The construction, inspired by the styles of Neoclassicism, presents a façade with lateral statues that portray Comedy and Tragedy, the group with the Genius of Glory crowning Music and Poetry, floral bas-reliefs and round inserts with the portraits of Alfieri and Metastasio. A elegant cornice forms the base of the attic on which one can read the Latin epigraph: “A group of friends, having collected the money, (erected) in 1835 this theatre to Melpomene and Talia, with the aim of embellishing and enhancing the souls of the people”. The interior features three circles - decorated with stuccoes and gold -, stalls, gallery and gods, for a total of 350 spectators.
