Among the lateral valleys of the Ossola, the Antrona Valley is, from the naturalistic viewpoint, one of the most complete and is also that which best conserves the traces of its alpine and farming past. The lift systems are located in Cheggio di Antrona (1500 m), where a ski-lift and a moving carpet lift offer access to 2 km of downhill ski runs equipped for artificial snow and particularly suitable for children and beginners. In Antrona there is a cross-country skiing circuit measuring 1.5 km which crosses a larch wood, and an outdoor ice rink, also equipped at competitive level for ice hockey. The town is still the best starting point for good-level ski touring trips on the neighbouring mountains, such as the Fornalino.
