Winter Sports - Pietraporzio
Category: Winter Sports
The many-times world and Olympic champion Stefania Belmondo learned to ski right here, on the ski runs of the “Scricciolo” Cross-country Centre in Pietraporzio (1246 m), which cross the fir woods and plateaux of this stretch of the Stura Valley. From the town, the tracks head off in opposite directions, either descending towards Sambuco (1185 m) and the hamlet of Moriglione or climbing towards Pian della Regina (1500 m) and the National Border, after passing the hamlet of Pontebernardo. Another great attraction of the winter season is ski touring, which offers interesting itineraries like the ascents to Monte Vaccia, the Vallone del Piz ed Pian del Balour.
