The Val Grande is the largest of the three Valleys of Lanzo, but has just one lift system for downhill skiing in Chialamberto, in the hamlet of Cossiglia, with a medium difficulty ski run also equipped for artificial snow. A large district for Nordic skiing links Chialamberto to Groscavallo, with about 30 km of tracks and circuits with differing levels of difficulty. Cross-country skiing can also be practised on some free tracks in the locality of Forno Alpi Graie, where snowshoes can also be used. The Ski school and the equipment hire centre are in Chialamberto, in the locality of Cossiglia, and in Groscavallo, in the hamlet of Pialpetta. Not all the Nordic ski runs are always open, so it is best to check before arriving.

HOW TO GET THERE
By car: from Torino taking the Tangenziale Nord, Venaria exit. Taking the SP1 heading towards Lanzo, Germagnano, Pessinetto and following the SP of the Val Grande heading towards Cantoira, Chialamberto and Groscavallo.
