Bouldering - Valli di Lanzo (To)

Category: Bouldering

Balme

Bouldering enthusiasts will find a number of options to have fun in the Valli di Lanzo. Very well-known and popular areas in this territory are, for example, the boulders of Balme in Val Grande and the boulders of Courbassere in Val d'Ala. The latter is a very extensive area, only a few minutes away from Ala di Stura, which Piedmontese climbers have known for decades. Around twenty boulders are available, which are located at the base of the cliffs, and offering routes for all grades. Also the Massi di Balme (Boulders of Balme), near Cantoira (43 km from Torino), have all types of routes for all grades of difficulty, as well as several bolted routes. You can experience a very high number of routes from roof sections to smearing and much more.

Season: March – October. The boulders are located in a lower position from the walls and are less exposed to the sunlight, therefore preventing climbing in winter.
Wall: Rock - Courbassiere, serpentinite boulders. Balme, prasinite boulders.
Grade: 2 - 7°
How to get there: in Piemonte and in the area of Canavese-Valli di Lanzo
