The Museo Arti e Mestieri di un Tempo (Traditional Arts and Crafts Museum) is situated inside the old town’s medieval castle, and was inaugurated in 1980. It houses over 3000 objects, evidence and records of ancient activities that have since disappeared. Visitors can go back in time on a journey through 20 themed rooms to see the old workshops where cobblers, saddlers, carpenters, knitters, organ makers, cartwrights, coopers, tailors, mattress makers and knife sharpeners used to work; they will discover the objects and tools used for such trades, some of them extremely old. The shops and workshops, which have been accurately reproduced, display original objects that have been mostly donated by villagers.
