This is the only museum in Italy entirely dedicated to umbrellas and parasols. More than a thousand examples, some very rare and precious, are a feast for the eyes. The museum tells the story of the lives and activity of umbrella-makers and traces the history of the fashions that influenced the style of these accessories. The themes dealt with are: the umbrella and its component parts; stories and legends of the umbrella; the umbrella and the evolution of fashion; the life of the Vergante umbrella-makers; working techniques; tools and materials.
