Ecomuseo Dinamitificio Nobel (Avigliana)
Category: Eco-museums
The first factory in Italy for the manufacture of dynamite was opened at Avigliana in the province of Turin in 1872, and for more than a century it was a symbol of working life in this small town. Today, it is a “living museum” in which the history of a factory that was fundamental to the economic and social life of the area is recounted in images and film clips, through examples of tools and instruments, and panels illustrating how explosives are made. A visit to the passages where the dynamite was processed is a must.
