Ecomuseo delle Terre d'acqua (Vercelli)

Category: Eco-museums

Vercelli

The plain of Vercelli is home to a priceless cultural, natural and human heritage, worth of national and international renown for the uniqueness of its characteristics. This ecomuseum aims at preserving these traditions and at passing down these ancient culture, civilization and memories that are still strongly deep-seated in the population. It also aims to promote the tourist attractions, as well as the natural, historical and cultural characteristics of a territory that well preserved its distinctive environment. The ultimate objective is to look at the Vercelli plain in a different way by learning to pay attention to what it can relate through all that has survived for so many centuries. The Ecomuseo delle Terre d´Acqua (Ecomuseum of Land and Water) is the largest and most complex museum in Piemonte. Here the rice-field landscape is extremely well depicted by unveiling aspects that aren’t immediately detectable and by consolidating people’s connections with the territory around them, as well as by fostering the link with the past and promoting this territory in all its complexity and features.
