Museo Etnografico "C'era una volta" (Alessandria)

This Museum is housed inside a former army barracks, and the set course of the exhibition takes visitors through various settings depicting everyday private and public life of the farming communities at the turn of the XX century. A specific area is devoted to the two World Wars, where related objects, weapons and ornaments are exhibited. Every part of the exhibition is enriched with handcrafted and hand-painted dummies, which enliven the exhibition and form an original and effective route. On the first floor of the building, to further enrich this ethnographic collection, where we can also find a vast collection of period dolls and toys, is a 1930s classroom and a library with books dating back to the eighteen hundreds.
