The purpose of the Rocca Grimalda Museum of Masks is to collect and promote the rich material heritage connected with clothes and with ceremonial dressing-up. This museum is an excellent institution and has an important network of international connections. The collections, housed in Palazzo Borgatta (former Town Hall), can be divided into three main sectors: zoomorphic masks, ‘leading’ carnival masks and masks used for “armed dances”, such as those of the carnival of Lachera that takes place precisely in Rocca Grimalda.
