Museums
Museo Didattico Giuseppe Pellizza (Volpedo)
Category: Modern and contemporary art
The set course of the exhibition, which is located on the ground floor of Palazzo del Torraglio, will take visitors on a journey at the discovery of Giuseppe Pellizza’s works, who was born in Volpedo in 1868. Explanatory panels, photographs, documents and various objects relate, in various sections, Giuseppe Pellizza himself with his family and through his biography. Here the ‘pictorial journey’ of this artist, from realism to symbolism, is also analysed, focusing on his cycles inspired by love and nature. Special attention is also paid to the "building" of the work of art, especially through examples of the “Processione” (Procession) (a crucial work of his transition to pointillism) and the “Quarto Stato” (Fourth State). The exhibition also focuses on the ten years that the artist devoted to the “Quarto Stato”.
