Grotte del Caudano (Frabosa Sottana)
Category: Science and technology
These caves were discovered in December 1898, while the tank for the hydroelectric power station of Frabosa Sottana was being built, and they have been somewhat of a mystery, and object of curiosity, ever since. They can now be visited thanks to an internal path that has been created specially for this purpose. After in-depth studies and exploration, carried out by experts in this field, the grotte del Caudano undoubtedly appeared to be the largest caves in Italy, as well as being the caves with the largest number of stalactites and stalagmites.
