Diageo Glass Collection (Santa Vittoria d'Alba)

Inside the elegant Villa Storica of Santa Vittoria d’Alba we can admire, in all its splendour, a collection of 144 pieces, which include: glasses, cups and goblets from Europe and the Middle East. The collection is divided into four sections, where the history of glass during the Ancient Age and the Roman Period is related. It houses pieces also from the Eastern provinces of the Empire, such as Syria and Egypt, up to the Venetian School period, which influenced European fashions throughout the Renaissance. We can also find numerous pieces by renowned glass-making schools of various countries, such as Germany, Holland, Bohemia and Russia, dating back from the mid-sixteen hundreds onwards.
