The small area that houses the museum is situated inside the Synagogue, a building which dates back to the 18th century. The exhibition comprises liturgical items and books, donated by members of the Jewish Community (which settled in Asti as of the 14th century), who left the town at the beginning of the 1980’s, to move elsewhere. Celebratory items are displayed (capes, embroidered by the Jewish women, which cover the scrolls of Torah – the Jewish religious texts -, several prayer cloaks, objects for the Sabbath dinner and for Easter), everyday items, valuable prints, Jewish school textbooks, as well as 18th and 19th century documents which belonged to the community.
