Museo Scuola Odin-Bertot (Angrogna)

Becoming a museum froze this school in time, keeping it as it appeared during the early years of the 1900’s with long wooden benches, the lectern, the stove, and the teaching materials. These small village schools were definitive in the struggle against illiteracy and, at the beginning of the 19th century, there were more than two-hundred of them scattered across the Pellice, Germanasca, and Basso Chisone valleys. The museum is part of the Sistema Museale Eco-Storico delle Valli Valdesi (Eco-historical Museum System of the Valli Valdesi) , which includes fifteen reality museums whose activities are promoted jointly through the Coordinamento Musei e Luoghi Storici Valdesi (Coordination of Valdesi Museums and Historical Places).
