Museo Ferroviario FERALP (Bussoleno)
Category: Science and technology
The “Museo del Trasporto Ferroviario Attraverso le Alpi” (“Museum of Train Travel Across the Alps”) extends through the area of the former Ferrovie dello Stato (State Railway) locomotive depot and maintenance shop and, among other things, documents the various moments in the evolution of the railway travel system. This is the reason, other than admiring several historical train cars, that visitors are also able to watch ordinary restoration and maintenance in the machinery shop itself. Among the cars kept in Bussoleno are the: 940.041, 743.283, and 640.143 steam engines, the electric engines E 424.075, E 428.058, and E 626.287, and a Vnx 806 snowplow engine.
