The Giardino Botanico Rea - an integral part of the Museo di Scienze Naturali di Torino (Torino Museum of Natural Science) – is located in Val Sangone in the heart of the Cottian Alps at 450 m. After having experimented with the cultivation of exotic carnivorous plants with good results, for study purposes, the museum began to cultivate Italian species, pinguicula and drosera aliciae in particular, besides the rare species that live in the running waters of the canals in the plains.
