Buildings of historical importance
Palazzo Crova di Vaglio (Nizza Monferrato)
Category: Buildings of historical importance
In the center of Nizza Monferrato, there is a historical, severe looking, baronial building from the Baroque era designed by the architect Giovanni Battista Nicolis di Robilant Crova di Vaglio with a brick façade and a narrow colonnade on the street level, the high walls of which surround a beautiful interior garden. Inside, one can admire the ancient stucco works and frescoes, as well as major stone staircases that lead to the two upper floors. Recently, the Palazzo Crova became the seat of the Enoteca Regionale (Regional Wine Cellar), of the Biblioteca Civica (City Library), of the Condotta Slow Food (Slow Food Management) from the Colline Nicesi, and of the Ufficio Turistico (Tourist Office).
