Museo d'Arte e Storia Ebraica Antica (Casale Monferrato)
Category: Tradition
The museum, which houses the most important collections of Jewish objet d’art in Europe – lamps, medallions, chalices, and historical documents relative to Casale’s Jewish community – was created by Giulio Bourbon between 1857 and 1866 to complement the restoration of Casale Monferrato’s rich Synagogue. The museum’s collection, known also as the “Museo degli Argenti’ (“The Museum of Silver”), is located inside the ancient women’s gallery right in the heart of the synagogue and extends to the upper floors where it is possible to admire other precious objects that are part of the Jewish tradition.
