Palazzo Robellini (Acqui Terme)

Category: Buildings of historical importance

Acqui Terme

Built by Giovanni Antonio Robellini near the end of the 16th century, as the major colonnade testifies, the palace was redesigned during the 18th century by the Dagna Sabina whom we owe the important staircase and the courtly rooms. Today, Palazzo Robellini houses not only the offices of the Regional Ministry of Culture and the city’s exhibit space, but also the Enoteca Regionale (Regional Wine Cellar) del Brachetto d’Acqui where tourists can taste Piemonte’s entire wine production. In this land so dear to Carducci that he described it in his verses “nell’esultante di castella e vigne suol d’Aleramo” (“in the exultation of castles and vineyards, soil of Aleramo”), a good nine DOC and DOCG products are offered alongside the typical cuisine rich in tradition.
