Castles
Castello di Calosso
Category: Castles
Property of the Roero family of Costanza during the 14th century, the castle was renovated at the end of the 17th century. Characterized by a huge cylindrical tower adorned with small hanging arches and Guelph merlons, it has, at this point, lost its original defensive fortification role to take on the aspect of a elegant and courtly country home. The ancient hall, the chapel dedicated to San Alessandro Sauli, the underground areas, and the park, which offers an enchanting view, are noteworthy.
