The Museum of the Shroud (Museo della Sindone) is in the crypt of Turin’s SS. Sudario Baroque Church. The new seat, inaugurated in 1998, offers visitors an emotional multi-media tour, through virtual animation created with 15 projectors, of the frescos depicting the Passion of the Christ on the arch and in the niches of the church. A deeply meaningful museum that illustrates the stages in the history of the Holy Cloth and in the scientific research that investigated the image, gathering-up the remains preserved at the Confraternity of the SS. Sudario. The museum, in fact, offers visitors all of the information on the research of the shroud carried out from the 16th century until today, bringing together and sharing the historical, scientific, devotional, and artistic aspects.
