Museo "Silmax" dell'utensileria e macchine utensili (Lanzo Torinese)
Category: Thematic
In this building, located in the heart of the Valli di Lanzo, Paul Alessio, a man from the last century, spent an entire life producing ingenious tools for his small business, Savant. In 1990, Silmax, which had merged with Alessio’s Savant in 1955, restored the building, constructed in the 18th century, and turned it into a museum. Lathes, cutters, sharpeners, and period tools were placed on the three floors which were once a “boita”. The result is a very strong historical business museum, presented within a context and atmosphere that transports the visitor into the reality of 19th century work life.
