A visit to the “l’ombra del tempo” Center in La Rua near Pragelato, allows one to descend into the history of time measurement thanks to light and sound effects. A series of illustrative panels guide and allow the visitor to deepen his or her knowledge of topics linked to time through models of meridian, iconographic images, sound effects, excitement, and awesomeness. It’s not by chance that the “museo del tempo” (museum of time) is located in this area. In the Chisone and Germanasca valleys one finds, in fact, more than 140 solar clocks, commonly called meridians, among which, the oldest ones date back to the end of the 17th century. Particularly important are those by Giovanni Zarbula, a traveling painter who, during the last century, crossed the Val Chisone leaving the memory of his art behind on the facades of numerous structures.
