Mountain Climbing

It is the 8 of August 1784 when Dr.Michel Gabriel Pacard and the "cristallier" Jacque Balmat reached the 4807 meters of the Mont Blanc top. The historical ascension represents the start of this cultural and sport phenomenon called Alpinism, promoted by the European bourgeoisie and concretised by the irreplaceable help of the local Alpine Guides. The alpinism nowadays is practised on all over the world mountains; and it consists to reach a top along its flanks following a route with rock or ice difficulties more or less continuing high. Piedmont represents a reference for this discipline practise thanks to the presence of real rock and ice jewels like the Monte Rosa white its ice expanses, the Gran Paradis wild flanks or even the steeps slopes of the lonely Monviso. In this vertical universe every rock, every ice strip keep the memory of an important past that waits to be rediscovered.
