  • Where to practice sports

Water is one of the most important assets of Piemonte, a territory that has constantly shaped itself in time thanks to the millenary activity of its glaciers and mountain streams, its lakes and rivers plains. Man has perfected and amplified this composition by building basins and canals while learning how to explore the works of nature in order to fathom its deepest secrets. The lakes in Piemonte form a precious resource, many of which offer the possibility of diving in a way that allows one come onto contact with everything hidden in those bodies of water of glacial origin. There are cavities, overhanging rock walls, ruins and forgotten archaeological finds kept by the waters of Lago Maggiore and Lago d’Orta where schools of whitefish, pike, perch and chub live. For diving fans, during winter months it is possible to descend under the frozen surface of Lago Mucrone in the Biellese Alps and of Lago Nero in upper Val di Susa to discover the colours and life in an atmosphere that deserves to be known, loved and safeguarded. The beauty of these lakes is exalted by the alpine background in which they are found and made unique by the combination of the heritage of plants and flowers that live along the banks and the abounding historical and cultural evidence present.

“Torino: a magnificent city from an architectural viewpoint. There was a lot of snow and people all over the place the last time we played in Piazza Vittorio during the 2006 Olympic White Nights: truly an atmosphere that cannot be replicated.”

Caparezza

“And I love eating in Torino, most of all the raw meat. I like this city. I’ve been to the Museo del Cinema three times and even took a walk up the hill. After a few kilometres I was at the top of Colle della Maddalena and could see the entire city.”

Gianni Farinetti

“There must be something in the water. It’s a strange phenomenon, the explosion that has taken place in the past fifteen years: there is a school of singer-songwriters from Genoa or a Roman school of painting, and then there are the writers from Torino… This is a good place to hide. Writing is observing, listening and then retreating into solitude. This is also a city of books, with a thousand bookstores and this exciting quantity of written words causes something.”
