Traditions and New Technology in the Orco and Soana Valleys

The area of the Comunita Montana delle Valli Orco e Soana, in the province of Turin, is becoming a true “digital territory”, an “open sky” workshop where the new technology for digital convergence is available to all local players, from the citizens to the businesses which are normally excluded from services due to the layout and distance of the territory itself.

Orco and Soana Valleys

This experimental project has an extensive mountain area as it main player, half of which consists of the Gran Paradiso National Park, a park that extends over a 616.06 km area and includes eleven communities. This is an important opportunity in the field of new communication technology, which further promotes the cultural and natural heritage of these valleys, a place where traditions and precious artisan handiwork survive. A land much loved and popular with such illustrious people as Giosue Carducci who, while staying in Ceresole Reale, became so fascinated with the beauty of Gran Paradiso, that it inspired him to write his ode dedicated to Piedmont.

Cristina Tardito

"Torino is a somber and very refined city that knows how to combine the ancient splendor of Palazzo Madama with the modern rush of the Olympic sites. I would like to take foreigners out on a Torino bar hop or take them out on the Po in a canoe."

Adrien Brody

“While shooting Dario Argento’s Giallo, I bought a used bicycle at Balon and would go out for a ride along the Po….Gorgeous…Not to mention Piemonte’s cuisine which is smashing….”

Riccardo Scamarcio

"I confess. I have committed the sin of gluttony in Piemonte. Dishes made with Alba truffles are irresistible and are a “must” during my stays in Piemonte."
